What Does Point Cloud Data Looks Like?
Point cloud data is a set of points in space based on XYZ axes relative to camera’s position. The scanner emits thousands of lasers which bounce back from any visible solid objects, all in a matter of seconds. If operated properly within correct distance ranges, data can provide accuracy up to 1/16 of an inch. 3D Scanning allows us to get all necessary data from the site such as: field conditions, dimensions, heights, reflectivity of surfaces, smoothness of surfaces and more.
Point cloud can be visible in true colors, as everything is captured with multiple 360 cameras as well as lasers. Multiple setups (scans) are then aligned and linked together to get a complete point cloud data.
